Portland has been going through dramatic changes in the past several years.  With the wide spread success of the Pearl, Portland has seen a tremendous influx of real estate investment and development near its epicenter.  As the Pearl continues to add new buildings to the Northwest Portland skyline, areas such as The South Waterfront in Southwest Portland continues to grow just miles away.  In addition to the Westside, the Portland eastside also has plans for growth with developments such as the Burnside Bridgehead, Rossmere and 2121 Belmont.

With this widespread development of condominiums, the city has seen an onslaught of retail development and national proprietors flocking to these downtown areas.  Big Box outfits, small boutiques and national chains have been opening for business with more slated to do so through 2010.
